Rotary hunt for treasure

Members of Rotary Barnard Castle searched the village of Romaldkirk for answers to clues provided by Rotary member and village resident Gerald Blake.

Dubbed 'Treasureless Hunt' by Gerald, simply because there were no prizes, and the honour was in the winning, Rotarians fanned out around the village, looking at house names, chimney pots, blocked up windows and royal connections among others. Eventually the questions took us into the church, and finally a nice scone and cream tea - cream first then jam, or jam then cream? Such dilemma!

Thank you Gerald, and Glenys and Pauline for the scones, not forgetting Su in the church for table setting and tea!
