Keith Miles made Honorary Rotarian

Keith Miles joined Barney Rotary in 1992, was President in 1999, and again as shared President in 2022.

Keith's Civil Service experience stood him, and the Club, in good stead. His planning, and documentary work were always extensively detailed, thoughtful and accurate.

He has told us that his working time in government definitely had shades of 'Yes Minister'!

During his 36 years with the Club, he involved himself in all aspects, took responsibility for many projects, and featured regularly in the book, 'The Wheels on the Bus', that the Club published in 2011, detailing the history of the Club during the 2000s.

Keith recently decided to hang up his 'Rotary Wheel'.

He initially asked to be made a 'Friend of Rotary'. 'Request denied! You deserve more, and the Club is making you an Honourary member'.

At a recent meeting Keith was presented with a special card , featuring photos of him in Rotary action over many years, and a voucher  contributed to by all of the members, to have a nice meal in the town with his wife Margaret.

Well done Keith!

At the same meeting, the Club welcomed visitors, including soon to be President, Geoff Mann, from Rotary Darlington - which  with 76 members, is reputedly the largest Club in the UK outside of London.

David Yeadon - Shared President.
